Winemaker introduction of Two Jakes of Diamonds wines
Cabernet Sauvignon 2012$40.00
Clone 15 | Of the dozen Cabernet Sauvignon clones planted at our ranch, Clone 15 is the most delicious and the most complete. Oozing with black cherry flavors, its dense, solid tannins make a perfect accompaniment to veal parmesan, grilled tri-tip, or steak béarnaise.
Petite Sirah 2010$30.00
This incredibly dense but well-mannered 100% Petite Sirah is packed with ripe blueberry and lavender aromas nuanced with sage and Asian spices reflective of our unique terror. Thanks to its generous yet refined tannins, you can enjoy its massive flavors in its vibrant youth or cellar it for decades for added complexity and mellowing.
Cabernet Franc 2011$30.00
Cabernet Franc is the father of Cabernet Sauvignon, leaner and with more depth. Our rocky soils restrain vine growth, exposing berries to our high altitude sunlight, which brings our bright white cherry flavors framed by firm tannins. We enjoy this wine with grilled wild mushroom pasta dishes or pork and plums.
The persistent sunny rays of high altitude embellish Merlot with bright pomegranate aromas and stimulate production of extravagant color and structure, framed here by elegant nuances of French oak toffee and cashew. A delicious complement to grilled steak, lamb chops or duck breast.
2 Jakes Dry Rosé$10.00
2 Jakes Dry Rose is a fitting companion to our red blend. We bleed off this pink juice from our Merlot after a brief time on the skins. By increasing the ratio of skins to juice, we get more concentration of color and flavor for our red wine. Quite rich in grenadine aromas, it possesses a natural fruit richness on the palate without any residual sugar. We blended in a small amount of Viognier to round out the tannins and give a kiss of peach in the nose. You’ll find this the perfect choice to take when you don’t know what’s for dinner. It goes well with steak, fish, spicy oriental dishes or pizza, and is a great crowd pleaser for the Thanksgiving turkey.
